CEU Webinar: Treatment Design for Adolescents with Developmental Disabilities: Programming with an Eye to the Future
The transition to adulthood presents unique challenges to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Successful transitions require thoughtful, early planning and prioritization of goals. In the ABA field, Board Certified Behavior Analysts commonly complete their training in programs that serve young children. Clinicians who are fluent in designing effective treatment plans for children are not automatically equipped to plan for transitions into adulthood. This presentation will provide an introduction to the skills BCBAs need to ethically serve adolescent aged clients, in keeping with the BACB’s Professionalism and Ethical Compliance code.
This presentation will cover:
-How behavior analytic strategies can be applied to optimize outcomes for adolescent and transition aged clients
-Available assessment tools that can be used to assess baseline skill levels
-How and when to write individualized transition statements for adolescent-aged clients
